Our Classes

Feeling Oov-y

75 minute class

We will start with simply getting comfortable on the Oov, doing some self-exploration, finding the sticky parts and developing stability. Your core (and your brain) will be working the entire time. Many a student has proclaimed “I’m sweating lying down!”.

One of the benefits of the Oov is the ability to make things harder or easier. The Oov creates chaos. So to make changes we simply increase or decrease the chaos. Each person can work at their own level and every day is different. To increase the challenge we can add weights, resistance and more standing work once you are ready.

Each class will end with a short relaxation. This gives your body a chance to process all the information you gained during your practice. You are welcome to bring a blanket or even a beach towel to cover up with during this time.

NOTE: The Oov material can be punctured by sharp objects so please be sure your clothing is free of zippers or studs.

30 minute class

Thomas Myers invites us to quit thinking of the body as 604 individual muscles and instead as 1 bodysuit with 604 pockets. You will come to understand these ideas and why when you reach up with your right hand you feel a pull in your left hip.

We will use balls to roll out along the fascial lines, under the feet, the upper trapezius – the muscle along the top edge between neck and shoulder – and everywhere in between.

“The body is inherently a system of seamless networks of tissues rather than a collection of separate parts. These connective tissues surround, support and penetrate all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs. This is the stuff that shapes us and gives us both stability and mobility.” – Rich Ennis

Treat Your Feet

30 minute class

“Wow- that’s a lot of joints!” That was the reaction from one of my long time students to meeting Tootsie, my foot model.

25% of the joints in your body are in your feet. It’s true, yet we put them in sensory deprivation chambers (aka shoes) all day, and then wonder that they hurt. When is the last time you have thought about working the muscles in your feet that support all those joints?

In this class we will focus on strengthening the muscles of the feet, creating more mobility in the feet and ankles by releasing the fascia, eventually working our way up the lower leg. Your balance will improve, your gait will be freer and your feet will thank you.

The underlying bonus of all the classes is reconnecting with your body. Your brain has to kick-in (some days are easier than others) in order to do this work. The mind-body connection is imperative for aging with grace.

Not comfortable in a group class? Want some individual attention to focus on your particular area of concern? Or want a small class for just you and 1 or 2 of your friends?

Contact me directly for available times.

In addition to my undivided attention you may get a visit from Bodhi The Dog. I’m pretty sure some of my clients come just to visit him.

*All classes are currently being held via Zoom.  Please contact Pam directly for availability.
