Depend on Yourself: A Pelvic Floor Workshop
October 6 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm$30
Due to the sensitive nature of our topic this workshop is for women only. Women of all ages, with concerns now or just wanting to avoid futures issues, will benefit. We have fun and try to make a sensitive topic comfortable for everyone.
We will start with an overview of the role of the pelvic floor in our daily lives. Next, we look at what can go wrong and what the different symptoms mean.
Next up is a brief “meet your pelvis” anatomy overview to gain an understanding of how integral the pelvic floor is to our overall posture, breath, and gait function. From here we will isolate and work individual muscles. Some will find this easy, others will struggle just to “make contact” with long forgotten muscles.
The active practice will introduce exercises that incorporate all the pieces and will include both strengthening and releasing moves. We will also talk about modifications and different levels of work.
Post workshop you will have access to a list of exercises so you can create the practice that honors your unique needs.
Space is limited so please reserve your spot in advance online.
You can check availability on the day and join us if there is space.
Do I have to be a member of BODYBAR?
No, this workshop is open to anyone.
Will I be doing exercises?
Yes, you will be participating in the practice. The exercises are not very challenging and we will offer modifications to meet individual needs.
What should I wear?
What you would wear to a yoga or pilates class, comfortable clothes and you will be barefoot or grippy socks.
